
The Spastic Centre's volunteers are a highly esteemed group of individuals who support special events and/or major appeals.
Volunteers have always played a vital role in the recreation programs at The Spastic Centre.
Volunteers can become involved in a variety of activities at various levels of the organisation. The main objective of asuccessful volunteer placement is to achieve personal satisfaction and to have fun.
In order to ensure the safety and wellbeing of all clients, employees, volunteers and visitors to The Spastic Centre,criminal record checks will be conduced on all new volunteers and again every two years. View the form (

Volunteer roles
The Spastic Centre has a variety of exciting volunteer opportunities and below are a few example roles currently available. If you would like to get involved please contact the Volunteer Department on 02 9479 7288 or email cprice@tscnsw.org.au.
- Volunteer Presenters, Northern Beaches, Hornsby and North Shore
We have developed an education package for primary school children and we are seeking to recruit volunteer presenters who have had experience in managing groups of children. Training, information session and lesson plan given.
- Pilates/Yoga Instructor, Allambie Heights
We run a class for young adults between the ages of 14 and 25 every Wednesday between 4 and 5.15 pm. It is fully supported with four Exercise Physiology students and a Spastic Centre staff member. New term runs from 25 February to 1 April.
- Volunteer Photographer, various locations
The Volunteer Team are involved in various events during the year and would love the expertise of a volunteer photographer to record the occasions.
- Boccia Assistant, Avalon
We have some talented Boccia players who are in the Australian and NSW teams who urgently need ramp assistants. Any Monday or Friday between 10 am and 2 pm. Training given. Opportunity to travel overseas with the athletes.
- Volunteer Assistant – MyTime Program, various locations
We provide child care for children with a disability and their siblings while their parents enjoy some timeout in a relaxed environment with other parents. If you have two hours to spare and would like to be involved or require further informationplease don’t hesitate to call us on 02 9479 7288.
- Volunteer Hydro Pool Assistant, Allambie Heights
Help our children/adults enjoy some time in the pool. We have several shifts available during the week.
- Volunteer Assistant, French’s Forest & Wetherill Park
Dealing mainly with packaging, assembly and mail services, our Business Services have been employing people with cerebral palsy for over 50 years. Various volunteer roles exist within this program ranging from admin support, meal time assistance, sales, warehousing etc. Whatever time you can spare, we have a volunteer rolefor you.
