Occupational Therapist - TASC (Technology solutions for computer Access, Seating and Communication)

I work in a multidisciplinary team and provide consultative services on:

What I like about my role?
I love the diversity of my role – we see clients of all ages and disabilities and we get to travel and be out of the office. I manage my own caseload and set my own schedule for appointments. I love working with technology as it’s always changing so you never get bored, there is always something new to learn.

What I get out of my role?
I get great satisfaction out of working for a dynamic service with a wonderful vision and mission to help people with disabilities and to foster the development of their staff. I love the fact that what I do really does make a difference in peoples lives.

Opportunities I have had
I have been very fortunate while working at The Spastic Centre to be funded to attend an international assistive technology conference in the USA. This was an inspiring and educational experience to meet the 'gurus' of the assistive technology world and to be able to share ideas and information.

The Spastic Centre is a fantastic place to work. There are dynamic teams and services with great vision to support people with a disability.

There is also a wonderful team of Level 4 therapists to support therapists in the organisation and a strong focus on research and evidence-based practice.
