Occupational therapy, physiotherapy and speech pathology for children with cerebral palsy 0-5 years and children with complex and significant needs, 5-18 years. Eligibility in some of the regions may be more inclusive than stated (due to additional funding). Please contact your local centre for further information.

How are services offered?
Our experience and current research indicates best results are achieved if therapy services are provided in a targeted and time effective way.

Services will focus around key times/events in families and children’s lives, rather than providing therapy continuously throughout the year.

Therapy is most effective when it is incorporated into children’s daily routines at home, school and in the community.

Therapy goals and locations will be coordinated around the families and children’s individual and changing needs.

Who is eligible for services?

children, 0-5 years with cerebral palsy.
young people from 6-18 years of age with complex and significant needs who require assistance in any or all of the services listed below.

Families of children who have therapy needs relating to a sensory or behavioural intervention will be informed of other available service options.

What services will be offered?
Our therapy services focus on the following areas:

assisting families and children to follow programs that will help them to continue to learn new skills in mobility, communication and self-care
supporting families in making home layout easier
working with families and schools to help children access and maximise participation in educational settings
providing information about transport and vehicle options for safe travelling
giving ideas on recreational and leisure options to cater for children and family’s special interests
offering families and children advice on equipment / technology and support in funding applications
helping teenagers prepare for life after school.

Who can make a referral?
Referrals can be made by the children’s families or caregivers or by another agency or professional person, with the consent of the family.
