Intensive Family Support Options (IFSO)

Intensive Family Support Options (IFSO) is an intensive support service for families that have a child or adolescent (0-18 years) with a diagnosed disability. The disability can be physical, intellectual or sensory. The service is for families who are in a high level of stress or crisis. It is particularly for families that are at risk of requiring a placement for their child, or where there are child protection or safety issues. Find out more about how we can help.

IFSO works together with families to recognise their strengths and abilities, and to develop strategies that will make a difference.
The service is focused, goal directed, and time limited according to the family's situation. The therapists work closely with the referring agency to help develop plans for ongoing support. Find out how to make an enquiry or referral.
IFSO staff also provide or collaborate in the provision of a range of seminars, training and professional development activities for workers.

IFSO teams are based in several locations, servicing a number of Sydney metropolitan and NSW regional areas:

IFSO North (Allambie Heights) – covering Metropolitan north
IFSO West (Parramatta) – covering Cumberland/Prospect area
IFSO South West (Prairiewood) – covering Bankstown/Fairfield area
IFSO South East (Penshurst) – covering Metropolitan south/east
IFSO Central Coast (East Gosford) – covering Gosford & Wyong local government areas
IFSO Hunter (Croudace Bay) – covering Hunter region
