Pathways

Pathways is your “one stop shop” at The Spastic Centre. We are responsible for referral, intake and service planning within the organisation.

Phone Pathways on 1300 888 378 when you first start to think about the services you may need. The Pathways receptionist will take your details and a Pathways Coordinator from your region will phone to arrange a time to visit you. We will help you to identify what will make a difference for you and your family.

We can tell you about the services that are available, including how to connect with other parents in a similar situation. We can refer you to the services that you need and work with you to ensure that you get the best for your family, whether it is at The Spastic Centre or with another agency.

Once you have started receiving services, all future requests also come to Pathways on our 1300 number. A Pathways receptionist will take your details and we will phone you back to discuss your current situation and what you want to achieve at this time. It may be useful for you to just to talk through why you feel you need a particular service and to look at the alternatives.

Sometimes you might phone us to ask for information; this could be around social clubs, sports, access to higher education or anything else that may be useful to you.

Pathways is designed to make it easier for people to get the services that will best meet their needs and will seek out possible alternatives to unmet needs.

We also record situations where we are not able to meet a need and this information is then used for future planning, government lobbying and funding applications.

Please note:

Adults in Sydney Metropolitan and Hunter regions
– The Pathways phone number is the same for adults with cerebral palsy who currently use our Business, Community Living or Day services; however, the request will be referred directly to the Adult Resource Program in your region.

Children (0-18 years) in Rural & Regional NSW – Please contact your local regional office. Services are provided for children with cerebral palsy aged 0-5 years and children with significant and complex needs (5-18 years). Each regional office has a therapy administrator who will be able to help you find out about local services that may suit your needs.
